The Johns Creek Fire Department has been consistently recognized for its professionalism, innovation, and
the participation in the Johns
Creek community.
The Fire Department’s efficiency
and effectiveness was validated
when the Insurance Service
Office (ISO), a private,
non-profit company that grades
fire departments nationally,
favorably reduced Johns
Creek’s rating to one of the
best in the country. The rating,
used by insurance companies to
set premiums, saved Johns Creek
homeowners and businesses
thousands of dollars.
The JC Fire Department acquired
a custom-made swift water rescue
boat to power against the strong
current of the Chattahoochee
River and better maneuver over
shallow water to reach those in
distress. The boat features
several tools to help locate and
rescue people, such as a hoist,
sonar, shallow draft, and a
strong engine. JCFD also
obtained five new
state-of-the-art thermal imagers
to improve firefighters’ ability
to locate victims in a structure
fire.
Community Safety Day-
The Johns Creek Fire Department
jointly sponsors with the Johns
Creek Police Department an
annual public event called “Community
Safety Day.” The Fire and Police
departments perform various
safety demonstrations. The event
gives the residents of Johns
Creek a chance to understand the
complexity and importance of the
Fire and Police services.
Child Care Safety Seat

Johns Creek firefighters are
certified in educating parents
about the proper way to install
a child car safety seat.

allows members to participate in
practical drills, fire
extinguisher training, and learn
about fire prevention rescue and
communication. The course is open to all Johns
Creek adult residents who

history check. Class size is
limited.
Heart Ready-
JCFD offers lifesaving
“Heart-Ready" training (American
Heart Associations’
non-certification program) in
proper use of CPR

and AED (automated external
defibrillator). Training is open

business owners at no cost.
